About the Course
OPIM 4881 is an internship course that allows students to receive credit for an internship they have secured in the field. Fees apply as they would a normal summer course. For more information on costs - Fee Information
Students must source and obtain their own internship (paid or unpaid). Internships must be 8-12 weeks long to qualify. The course is only offered during the summer and must run concurrently with your internship. It is graded as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory so it will not contribute to overall GPA, but it will fulfill the elective requirement for the AIM major and minors.
Once students have secured an internship, a copy of the offer letter must be emailed to Professor Stephen Fitzgerald for review and to receive a permission number to enroll.
Final Deliverables
- A 10-page paper that details how the skills they learned in their major assisted them in the internship. The paper will count for 50% of your grade in the course and the format will be provided by the instructor.
- An evaluation from your direct supervisor coordinated by the instructor will count as the other 50% of your grade.
