OPIM 4881 – Internship Course

About the Course

OPIM 4881 is an internship course that allows students to receive credit for an internship they have secured in the field. Fees apply as they would a normal summer course. For more information on costs - Fee Information

Students must source and obtain their own internship (paid or unpaid). Internships must be 8-12 weeks long to qualify. The course is only offered during the summer and must run concurrently with your internship. It is graded as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory so it will not contribute to overall GPA, but it will fulfill the elective requirement for the AIM major and minors.

Once students have secured an internship, a copy of the offer letter must be emailed to Professor Stephen Fitzgerald for review and to receive a permission number to enroll.

Final Deliverables

  • A 10-page paper that details how the skills they learned in their major assisted them in the internship. The paper will count for 50% of your grade in the course and the format will be provided by the instructor.
  • An evaluation from your direct supervisor coordinated by the instructor will count as the other 50% of your grade.
